  • The DZM was developed as a landing aid for parachute operations at night.  It is a compact, parachutist-deployed, parachute-borne drop zone marker and wind direction indicator. The DZM-100 and -200 Series markers comprise a small parachute attached to two sets of light modules (steady or flashing) separated by 30 to 50 feet of nylon line.  Each light module has two opposite facing high-intensity LED luminaires to ensure visibility from all directions. The device packs into a deployment bag that is built into the top of the chute. The unit is deployed over the intended drop zone by the parachutist while under canopy with a one-handed, single motion. The DZM illuminates automatically upon deployment and descends rapidly to the DZ.  Once landed, the ballast end with the steady light remains stationary while with the flashing light drifts with the chute in the direction of the wind until fully grounded—providing an indication of relative wind speed and direction.

    The DZM-100 is configured with visible light modules (red steady, green flashing) and the DZM-200 is equipped with flashing and steady infrared (IR) light modules.  Each dual-light module is powered by a single CR123 cell battery.

  • HEL-STAR 6® is a multi-function helmet mounted LED light designed for airborne/MFF, tactical and other military operations.

    HEL-STAR 6® combines the basic features of the earlier HEL-STAR 4® & HEL-STAR 5® multi-function marker lights into a compact, integrated design with enhanced omni-directional visibility and easy battery replacement. The newly refined HEL-STAR 6® Gen III offers a sleek design, integrated tie downs, battery changes without tools, and advanced electronics, including a field re-reprogramming option. Sliding switches enhance tactile feel and provide positive, intuitive control between the two operating modes and four user-defined functions. Functions can be selected from virtually any combination of White, four different color options, and IR – either flashing or steady. Variable flash rates, intensities and coded signals provide expanded IFF capability. Independent testing has confirmed that the HEL-STAR 6® Gen III exceeds the FAA’s 3 statute mile visibility requirement and is shock and vibration resistant, dustproof, and open sea waterproof to 130 fsw (laboratory 300+ feet). HEL-STAR 6® is built on a platform that allows new technology to be incorporated as it becomes available. As mission demands shift and expand, HEL-STAR 6® continues to evolve with changing user needs.

    Wireless field re-programming capability is available upon request. Requires the purchase of a Programming Interface Module (PIM).

  • The JPL-401 is a wireless, RF controlled portable jump light system designed for use on aircraft not already equipped with jump lights, or as a back-up for aircraft already equipped. JPL-401 is designed to work from any position within the aircraft interior. The system operates at 915 Mhz, 12.5 dBm (max) and should not interfere with aircraft electrical or communication systems.

    The standard JPL-401 kit comprises a Control Module (JCM-1), one Light Module (JLM-1), spare batteries and attachment accessories in a waterproof Pelican® case.

    • Control Module — Compact, handheld device includes an ON/OFF switch, RED & GREEN push-button switches with indicator LEDs, and a dimmer switch.
    • Light Module — Remotely activated device includes ON/OFF switch, RED/GREEN and/or infrared LEDs radiating through a translucent lens, and a dimmer switch.
    • Attachment/Mounting — A re-usable Velcro and bungee “Attach Patch” and selfadhesive Velcro patches provide for temporary mounting of the Light Module to aircraft structure at the door or ramp.
    TYPICAL OPERATION
    • Prior to flight, ARM both modules and confirm RF linkage (small blue and amber LEDs illuminate on both modules).
    • Prior to reaching release point, push the RED (READY) button on the Control Module; the Light Module illuminates RED.
    • At release point, push the GREEN (GO) button on the Control Module; the Light Module turns from RED to GREEN. (An optional flashing GREEN ready signal immediately prior to the steady GREEN GO light can be made available on request.)
    • The jump can be aborted at any time by pushing the RED button on the Control Module—changing the Light Module to RED. The system cannot go directly to GREEN without first going to READY (RED).
